Argora Arches - Arch 1
Rockcastle County · Cumberland Plateau
1 pillar, 1 window and a tunnel like tube feature that does a 180 in short limestone cliff. The tunnel is partially filled with dirt on one side. Originally listed Argora Pillars it is now called Argora Arches. There might be 20 ft distance between the tunnel and the pillar with the pillar window inbetween. The pillar is in about a foot long but credibly thin, possibly 4 inches of lintel, wide. The pillar is located in a shallow rock shelter just beyond the tunnel. The features are about 30 ft off the road. There's a lot of active geology going on here.
Visiting these arches requires a highter sitting SUV as the road these arches are on is at times actually a creek. Not visitable in times of high water.
